Dear Colleagues,
    The Graduate School of Economics, Osaka University is pleased to announce that the 15th International Symposium on Econometric Theory and Applications (SETA) will be held on June 1 and 2, 2019, in Osaka, Japan.
    Since 2005, SETA has been hosted by Academia Sinica (Taiwan), Xiamen University (China), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Hong Kong), Seoul National University (Republic of Korea), Kyoto University (Japan), Singapore Management University (Singapore), Monash University (Australia), Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China), Sungkyunkwan University (Republic of Korea), Hitotsubashi University (Japan), University of Waikato (New Zealand), Peking University (China) and University of Sydney Business School (Australia).
    The SETA conference has become a leading event in Asia that brings together researchers in econometrics for an opportunity to present and discuss their research ideas. The conference program will include a mixture of keynote lectures, invited lectures and contributed sessions. The keynote and invited speakers in SETA2019 are as follows:

(*) Hatanaka lecture is in memory of Professor Michio Hatanaka, who was an econometrics professor at Osaka University and passed away two years ago (November 5, 2016).

    On behalf of the Advisory Committee, the Program Committee and the Local Committee, we are inviting the prospective contributors to submit their papers electronically through the Conference Maker, which will be available from January 1, 2019. Submissions of both theoretical and applied works in a broad range of fields in economics are welcome, to cover all aspects of econometrics, such as microeconometrics, macroeconometrics, financial econometrics, nonparametric and semiparametric econometrics, machine learning and big data analytics.

    Important Dates (Japan Standard Time, i.e., JST):
      * Conference Dates:   June 1 and 2, 2019
      * Paper Submission Period:   January 1, 2019 - February 28, 2019 (12:00AM Eastern Standard Time)
      * Notification of Acceptance:   March 25, 2019
      * Early Registration & Payment Period:   March 25, 2019 (9:00 JST) - April 21, 2019 (23:59 JST)(**)
      * Late Registration & Payment Period:   April 22, 2019 (0:00 JST) - May 15, 2019 (17:00 JST)

    (**) Please choose Early Registration & Payment, if you need the visa for a short-term stay in Japan.
    We will start to do the paper work for the visa after confirming your payment.
    The Registration & Payment website will be available from March 25, 2019 (9:00 JST).
